Meet the Lochhead Family
The Lochhead family have farmed at Beyond the Burn, nr Dumfries for nearly 100 years. The current generation of Lochheads' Gavin, Jane & Jonny, introduced the Brown Swiss cattle when restocking after Foot and Mouth disease claimed the previous herd.
In the short few years that Swiss have been roaming the hills at Mouswald, the herd ha developed a number of world class families, won countless shows and begun selling stock and embryos around the world.
The new farm building were erected in 2012 and include 3 De Leval robots. The herd now consists of 130 pure bred Swiss plus 270 followers.
In 2016, Gavin & Jane set up the latest Kedar development, The Kedar Cheese Company, making and selling Mozzerella and Mountain Cheese.

Visit us at home or see the ladies around the UK
Our girls head to shows across the country and have returned with silverware and ribbons galore.
Kedar Barns is always open to visitors, simply get on touch and we would be happy to show you around. If you can't make it up to the farm, the girls usually attend a number of shows each year including, Expo. Dairy Day, Dumfries, The All Britain and Agriscot, pop by our stand we would love to see you!
